====== Teorema de Aproximação de Weierstrass: ======

Dizem que o Weierstrass provou este teorema quendo tinha 70 anos de idade!

Seja $f \in C^{0}([a, b])$ e $\epsilon > 0$ então existe um polinômio $x \rightarrow P(x)$ tal que $\|P - f\|_{C^{0}} \leq \epsilon.$

Duas demonstrações:
  - Por Convolução
  - PorPolinômios de Bernstein

Convolução: 
  * Primeiramente podemos supor sem perda de generalidade que $a=0, b=1, f(0)=f(1)=0.$ Basta fazer inicialmente uma mudança de variável e depois subtrair uma função afim para ter tais condições.
  * Considere polinômios $\beta_n(t):= b_n (1-t^2)^n$ onde $b_n$ são de tal forma que $\int_{-1}^{1} \beta_n (t) dt =1.$
  * Suponhamos de fato que $f=0$ fora do intervalo $[0, 1].$ Definimos $P_n(x) := \int_{-1}^{1} f(x+t)\beta_n(t) dt$
  * Afirmamos que $P_n$ é poliníomio. Basta fazer uma mudança de variável na integral $(x+t)=u$ para ver isso.
  * Finalmente precisamos mostrar que $P_n$ converge uniformemente a $f$.

Para provar a convergência usamos duas observações:

Agora podemos estimar o erro de aproximação por $P_n$:
 
$|P_n(x) - f(x)| = | \int_{-1}^{1} (f(x+t)-f(x)) \beta_n(t) dt | = |\int_{|t| < \delta} (f(x+t)-f(x)) \beta_n(t)dt + \int_{|t| \geq \delta} (f(x+t)-f(x)) \beta_n(t)dt |$
temos que 
  * $|\int_{|t| < \delta} (f(x+t)-f(x)) \beta_n(t)dt| \leq \int_{|t| < \delta} |(f(x+t)-f(x))| \beta_n(t)dt \epsilon/2.$
  * A função $f$ tem máximo $|f| \leq M$ e portanto $\int_{|t| \geq \delta} |(f(x+t)-f(x)) \beta_n(t)dt | \leq M \int_{|t| \geq \delta} \beta_n(t) dt$ e este último converge a zero pela convergência uniforme.

Considere uma função $k : \mathbb{N} \rightarrow \mathbb{N}$ crescente. Construa uma função $f: [0, 1] \rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ contínua tal que $Min \{ deg(P): P \quad \text{polinômio} \quad \|f-P\| \leq \frac{1}{n}  \} > k(n).$
